resource listing
resource listing
Overview
Product Description: The resource list tool is an internal product to help our organization’s researchers more easily access the articles they need in order to conduct research more efficiently. The tool allows researchers to filter article types by topic and to sort by date.
Goal: To identify which of 2 UI options, the detailed list view or the compact list view, would be most intuitive for users.
How I approached the research: I mocked up a detailed list view and compact list view of the resource listing product. I then identified 20 target users to conduct usability tests and user interviews with over 30-minute WebEx calls. Through synthesizing this research in Excel and analyzing it, I was able to provide insight into which UI design would be most intuitive for users. I collaborated with our UX team through keeping them in the loop about research trends during the research process, and then discussed next steps for prototyping and next steps in weekly stand-up meetings.
